With Christmas around the corner, I wanted to share a few of my favourite festive photo shoots which I have styled over the past few years. From magazine shoots, to brand work to TV adverts - I've picked out the best of my Christmas styling work.

1. Cover Shoot for Good Homes magazine

With my years of experience styling for magazines (I headed up the style team at House Beautiful magazine for 6 years!), it was great opportunity when I went freelance to start styling for other titles – which you will see below.

The shoot above is for Good Homes magazine. It was shot over 2 days because we had a lot of shots to get through. Christmas styling always brings another layer of ideas and props that a stylist has to bring which is part of the job I love the most!

2. Christmas Craft Shoot for Coast Magazine

As I live by the sea in Brighton, shoot for Coast magazine is always a joy for me. I actually was contributing style editor on the magazine souring houses and shooting projects like this one above.

The theme for this Christmas style shoot was to show coastal crafts that you could make at home – like a sea moss scented candle – or a driftwood branch hung above your Christmas dining table decorated with silver glass baubles.

It was such a pleasure to work on this shoot, and I love my styling here – so clean & simple

3. Styling Dining Table For Home Magazine

When I Style Editor on Home magazine, I loved having complete creative control producing covers and style shoots for the title – I would really let my imagination run wild. This was especially true for Christmas photoshoots.

The photoshoot above was inspired by Christmas in Scandinavian – which is a cleaner look featuring lots of white, fresh greenery, and gingham patterns. I like to mix in navy to bring the look up to date – and I think that this Emma Bridgewater tableware was perfect for this set up.

I love a clean crisp Scandi look which is a total contrast from the traditional look we are used to in the UK.

4. StylinG Hot Christmas Trends

Every year, magazines and the high street release a new Christmas trends which we are encourage to decorate our homes with. My job as an interior stylist is to interpret these trends for both brands and magazine shoots – which is very exciting!

The look above was styled of House Beautiful magazine where I was asked to bring the ice blue trend to the pages of the magazine. I wanted to create a modern alternative to a Christmas tree which was the paper snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. This was shot at Palace Road location house which is one my faves to style.

5. Pretty In Pink Christmas Ideas

Talking of trends, another colourful look I styled is this very grown up look in pink and gold, with lots of glittery touches. The touches of black really ground the pink – and the clean white background makes everything pop! I think this is the perfect setting for New Year’s Eve party! This set up was for Jasper Conran for Wedgewood.

6. Cover shot for Ideal Home

I do love styling a traditional Christmas look. This one was for a cover shoot for Ideal Home magazine. I remember the van full of my props was impounded by the police so I started the shoot with no props – which was ever so slightly stressful. Luckily I pulled it off! And these shots made the cover which is a high achievement. I love the little wrapped up Christmas pudding – it looks like a gift, doesn’t it?
