Hey! I’ve got something super exciting to share with you….as an interior stylist, I’m lucky that I get to look at all the latest homeware trends for 2016 before they hit the high street. Today I want to share with you my highlights from the Spring Summer Press Preview Shows. Here’s my pick of the hottest home looks that you will love to add to your home – whatever your style. Come one, let’s go!
Confession time: I’m a girl who loves a floral print. I was there when Cath Kidston opened her first store. I’m a Laura Ashely addict. And my bed is overflowing with floral cushions and throws. So you can imagine how bleeding excited I was to spot this trend – layers upon layers upon layers of florals *blooming lovely*
Key to this trend is to embrace every type of floral you have ever seen and then work them all together – from ceramics, to linens to cushions to candles to straoge jars to these cute spoons….I could go on and on.
Look at this wonderful chair upholstered with a print by artist Monnet. Just lush isn’t it? Then see how they have layered up the embroidered cushions.
Add glamour to the look with touches of gold like these sweet rabbits jars. Pretty for a bedroom, non?
Add fresh flowers to the mix. And pretty floral jars. And floral ceramics. Now you see why this look is all about clever layering.
How well do these gold lights sits with all the florals, giving it an edge. Love love love.
I love travelling and one of the most exciting places I’ve been to it South America. I spent over six months over there exploring the place. So you’re going to understand why I adore the tropical shades of this trend – just look at the fabrics, colours and patterns! Wisk me away.
Save your pennies for faux cactus. Big and small. Yep, that’s right. Faux cactus! Uber stylist – Abigal Adhern has one for every homestyle – see here.
This was taken in the car park at Marks + Spencer’s head office to welcome stylists into the press preview show. This bed linen was just beautiful to touch – heavily embroidered in rich cottons. I also love the brass lanterns and light fittings – such a neat idea. I just want to dive in – don’t you?
See how great the cactus look. They are going to be so big on the high street. GET ONE NOW.
I’m so going to copy this idea at home. Ombre walls in scorcho shades of pink. Look how the yellow lanterns just POPS against it.
It’s always really hard to make neutrals appear interesting again. And this is why this trend is going last the longest. Greys, beiges, naturals have all been mixed in with key hole prints, mosaic patterns, velvet rugs, embellished metals and hand-craved woods…AND Greek Gods (well, at least I think they are Greek!)Love this cushion – he’s rather dishy!
More layering here. Love the velvet texture of the rugs and the complementary colours. It’s a really clever look which would give a home classic styling with a real twist.
To stop this look appearing as if is has stepped out of museum, look out for quirky pieces like these wacky vases. They remind me of the Andy Wharhol.
Loving the turned wooden floor standing lamp and the hand-carved wooden unit. This is a very classy look, hey?
Your very own Trojan horse (on a mini scale). Look at the glimmering tiled wall behind – that could work well in a bathroom.
The last key trend = Pastels. Now, I hear you say – that is not a new trend! But look how it has been reworked for small loft living.
Painted furniture in coral with matt grey as an accent colour. I’m in love with the tiled wall – but I would be – as I want to tile everything in my whole home at the moment.
I’m looking for some little tables for my living room. Wirework in geometric shades sits so well in modern homes. Can you spot yet more Peachy Pastel with that armchair. Add natural touches to make this 2016 trend come alive. Look at the wooden furniture and the tray, and then mix in sculptural plants like these cute succulents.
Slogans have been around for yonks – but they don’t date. This cushion sums up the look – cosy, inviting and welcoming. Yep, Hug Me!
All these photos were taken at the Marks + Spencer press show back in November. Look out for these trend hit the store {and when you can buy these pieces}
So what do you think of these ideas for 2016? Is your home going to be filled with hot Mexican prints, layers of florals, soft Grecian greys or Cosy peachy pastels. Pop your thoughts below.

Exciting! *rushes off to buy some cacti … š
I’ve got three now dotted around the house. I love them
I absolutely love the Latin approach to hot colour – totally fearless! Gorgeous & life affirming!
They are not afraid to use hot pinks EVERYWHERE. I adore it too.
I could cry at how pretty all of this is. Like you I ADORE florals and knowing they are on trend for Spring makes my heart sing a very happy song. Amazing post!
I can hear the joy in your words. What a lovely comment ;))
