New Work: Interior Stylist & Art Director For Lifestyle Floors

A day in the life of an interior stylist: Styling and photographing for Lifestyle Floors.

Have you ever wondered what goes into creating those gorgeous home interior photos you see in magazines and online? Well, let me take you behind the scenes of a recent styling project I worked on with the fantastic team at Lifestyle Floors.

It was a whirlwind of creativity, sweat, and satisfaction!

The Prep

Every successful shoot starts with meticulous planning. When Lifestyle Floors approached me to style their latest campaign, I knew I was in for a treat. Their products are stunning, and I couldn’t wait to create some magic with them. The focus was on their new eco-friendly range.

My first task was sourcing props that would complement their flooring beautifully. Think chic furniture, and just the right decorative touches to make each room look lived-in and photo ready.

Once the props were ordered, it was time to book the perfect location. We needed a space that had plenty of natural light and character, but also enough versatility to showcase different flooring styles. After a bit of searching, I found a gem that ticked all the boxes.

The Big Day

The day of the shoot dawned bright and hot – one of those sweltering summer days where you can feel the heat radiating off the pavement. Armed with a van full of props, I set off to the location. Driving a van loaded with delicate decor items is a unique challenge in itself, but I was determined to get everything there in one piece.

When I arrived, the real workout began. The shoot location was on the third floor, and there was no elevator. Yep, you guessed it – I had to carry all those props up flights of stairs. By the time I reached the top, I’d definitely gotten my steps in for the day. But hey, who needs the gym when you’ve got a job like this?

Styling and Shooting

Once the props were in place, it was time to style the sets. This is always the part of my job as an interior stylist. There’s something incredibly satisfying about arranging furniture and decor to create a space that looks effortlessly stylish and inviting. The Lifestyle Floors team was fantastic to work with, and their products made my job so much easier. Each flooring option had its own unique design, and it was fun to play around with different looks.

Despite the heat, the shoot went off without a hitch. Our photographer Penny Wincer was a true professional, capturing every detail with precision. We worked together to make sure each shot highlighted the beauty of the floors, while also creating an overall aesthetic that would appeal to Lifestyle Floors’ customers.

The Results

At the end of the day, all the hard work paid off. The images turned out beautifully, and the client was thrilled. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of seeing a project come together and knowing that you’ve exceeded expectations. The Lifestyle Floors team was happy, and that’s the best reward I could ask for.
