Treat yourself to a spot of self care with Phoenix Eco Spa

What is self care? It is any activity that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health.

Although it’s a simple concept in theory, it’s something we can easily overlook. Good self-care will improve your mood and reduced anxiety. It can take many forms from a calming walk outdoors, to reading a book, meditating, yoga or having a relaxing beauty massage.

This winter, I’ve been focusing on my own self care routine by setting aside time for myself and trying so hard not feel guilty about it. My self care involves walking the dog on the South Downs, joining a gym, practicing yoga a few times a week and looking after my skin. Do you set aside time to practice self care?

One way to enjoy a little ‘me time’ is with a relaxing beauty treatment to help you unwind and smooth away the day’s troubles.

That’s where Phoenix Eco Spa can help you. This Brighton spa has a wide range of affordable beauty treatments and the spa is entirely organic. Sounds great, right?

Choosing a treatment that will help you relax and unwind

Phoenix Spa offers a personalised treatments to help you reach new levels of bliss and relaxation. You’ll leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and revitalised – or as in my case very snoozy.

There are a wide choice of massages available from deep tissue, aromatherapy or hot stone. With different length options available, starting at £30 for a 30 min Swedish massage.

Treatments include massages, facials, gel nails, eyebrow and lash tinting an even false lash application. There’s so many to choose from.

The spa is located in Upper Rock Gardens in Brighton, a short walk from the seafront and busy Kempton  It’s also an entirely organic vegan spa so they only ethically sourced, sustainable and vegan-friendly products.

I love the founding principles of the spa who against animal testing, are LGBTQ- positive and all their beauty products are ethically sourced. They’re open 7 days a week with an easy to use the online booking form to book in a day and time to suit you.

Although I was pretty tempted to go for a reflexology treatment, I settled on a 60 minute full body Swedish massage to help unknot away the week’s troubles. The massage worked on my tight muscles due to my new workout regime and spending all day at my desk. My therapist kneaded my feet and legs (which were surprisingly knotty) and finished with head massage.

My skin felt smooth afterwards due to the natural oils and aromatic essential oils.

  1. I would love the Top of body massage treatment. I’m always getting a bad back with two small kids to run around after so I find this is the best way to unwind 🙂

  2. I love the sound of the aromatherapy massage (have on/off insomnia at the mo!) and that everything’s organic and vegan – it’s also not far from me x

    1. I would love a deluxe pedi as my feet are do tired from running around after everyone except myself all day. Plus it’s my birthday this month and now I’m in my 40s I need all the help I can get xx

  3. I would love a deep tissue massage…sounds delightful and much needed to relax and unwind. I’m a big believer in trying to put yourself first… I dont always get there but giving time for self care treats is so important and not to be sniffed at! That ultimate time to unwind experience ❤

  4. I’d love to try the Aromatherapy Sinus Relief facial.. it’s so needed after sniffles and sneezes and winter troubled skin.. a little relaxation is exactly what everyone needs right now. Love your blog ? Steph

  5. Deluxe Gel Pedicure for me – I love to have my feet rubbed and now it’s winter, they’re definitely being neglected far more than when I was wearing sandals every day! Self-care is so important, when you ‘let yourself go’ it’s more than how you look, it’s losing a grip on yourself and your self-worth. Neglecting yourself is a slippery slope.

  6. I would LOVE an aromatherapy or hot stones massage – they both sound amazing!!!
To me, self-care means taking time out to look after yourself, to invest time in yourself and get away from the stresses and strains of day to day life to recharge your batteries. As a stressed and frantic student, I need to practise self-care more than ever but sadly this is easier to say than do in practice

  7. Definitely the SWEDISH MASSAGE – FULL BODY EXPERIENCE. I love a good, strong massage- irons out all the knots and leaves me feeling super relaxed after. No pain, no gain right?!

  8. A deep tissue massage for my top half. Like you, I’m someone who spends all day at a desk so my shoulders are often really aching – this would be a great relief.

    1. Oops, I posted too soon but self care to me means having the power to say no – no to the things you don’t want to do, no to the things you don’t need to worry about, and no to the people who don’t treat you right.

  9. The timeless rose confident facial sounds perfect. Self care is so important and so many people tend to forget about themselves. Being a busy mum, it’s so easy to concentrate on others and get out of the habit of looking after yourself.

  10. This spa is beautiful and the staff are so lovely! I had a full body massage last year and it was incredible. I wouls love to experience the reflexology – the idea of a full body massage feeling whilst only working on your feet is mindblowing. Home/work life balance is always challenging emorionally and physically. So, it is important for me to set aside time to focus on my well-being. This would be perfect way to unwind, whilst relieving myself of stress and anxiety.
