PASTELS
This is the perfect example of how to do pink properly. No girly, sugar-coated shades here.  This is pastels for a grown up room. I love the way this room has been divided in half. It looks really modern and is super easy to do too. I think perfect pastels usually found in the heritage paint shades department of a DIY store.
STYLE TIP: Paint is one of the cheapest ways to mix up different colours in your bedroom.

BOLD DARKS
Don’t be scarred by the latest colour trend – which is rooms decorated in deep dark shades. They vamp up a room, looking edgy and cool.  Using one single shade in a deep, dark colour like rich navys, leafy greens or blacks add drama to bedtimes.
STYLE TIP: Please note the slice of lemon that breaks up all these strong greys.

BURNT ORANGE
Rusty, burnt oranges are going to huge in Autumn Winter 2017. If you are looking to add an accent to your bedroom, then use pick out this colour with accessories (like bedding and cushions, or a light fitting) for a splash of colour.
STYLE TIP: Bring this fashion shade to your room with a mix of patterned linens, cushions and throws.

OFF-WHITE
White rooms are a design classic. And who says a simple colour pallet means you have to play it safe? The floorboards, walls, bedlinen and even the valance are in one single shade. All making the perfect backdrop of the POP! of art on the wall. Painted brick makes this space look like it could be in a warehouse or in a New York loft. Ace.
STYLE TIP: For that loft-living look, invest in a statement bed like the Olivia Upholstered bed frame.

SMART SHELVING
Have you thought about shelving in your bedroom? Why not? It can make the perfect display area of all your bits and pieces. And makes a nifty dressing table if space is tight. Don’t feel the need to fill the shelving though – allow your accessories to breath.
STYLE TIP: Less is always more.

WONDERFUL WALLS
Key accessories can update your space. Take Macramé hangings which are so hot right now. They look amazing when hung above a bed. I love the way the texture of the woven hanging works so well with the pom poms that have been draped over the headboard. Most excellent styling skills.
STYLE TIP: Look on etsy for the latest fashion accessories

FRAME IT
Don’t these empty frames look so sophisticated in this room? The pendant light hanging above highlights this little set up, drawing your eye to it. So clever. Feel free to move your accessories around your room every once in a while. Switch it up a bit will keep your bedroom looking stylish all year round.
STYLE TIP: Look in charity shops for inexpensive vintage frames.

GROUP ART
Carefully selected art will always bring personality to walls. Try hanging a cluster of pictures above your bed to bring colour to your space too. When it comes to your bed – look out for tactile fabrics, like velvet and silks (^^like the throw here ^^) which will make your room look oh-so inviting.
STYLE TIP: Fresh flowers placed beside your bed makes a lust-worthy bedroom accessory.

STRING STYLE
What’s not to love about this room…the quilted throw, the simple nightstand and the cute string of postcards above the bed. This is the perfect example of how tiny touches – which need not cost the earth – can transform, what could have been a really dull space, into somewhere really special.
STYLE TIP: Use garden twine to string up post cards above your bed.

Clutter! How can I stop it taking over my small bedroom?

When space is short on supply, you need to come up with some clever design ideas that will make the most of what you have. Storage solution are not always the answer. Sometimes you have to be ruthless with what you own – pairing back your belongings – to let what remains shine.

FRAME YOUR BED
This is such a clever idea – making a frame for your bed that also can team up as a storage solution! The shelf above makes an ideal display space too for knick knack that you love and treasure.
STYLE TIP: Don’t hide away your books – make a display of them.

VINTAGE STORAGE
Most of my weekends are spend rummaging around at junk stalls. One day I will find a beautiful metal trunk like the above. Not only would it hold spare bedlinen – or lets face it – shoes, but it looks so good too when used as a bedside table.
STYLE TIP: Sand back old metal furniture to reveal the chrome finish.

HANG IT
Hooks are the best friend of small bedrooms. Use them for hanging clothes (on fancy hangers of course), laundry bags or even pretty bunting. I like the way here the pegs blend into the room so that they have actually become part of the design scheme.
STYLE TIP: Hooks come in all shapes and sizes. At the moment I have my eye on an arrow shaped one for the back of my door.

LEANING LADDER
Another simple storage idea is a ladder. They are great for hanging up extra blankets and throws when not needed in the summer months.
STYLE TIP: Use old decorating ladders if you can’t find one exactly like the above.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL FURNITURE
If you have a small bedroom, look for pieces of furniture that has lots of different uses like a chest of drawers. I found mine at a market for £15. Not only does it hold all my socks and pants but it also makes a brilliant dressing table. Another ideas is a storage bed – one that lifts up. Take a look at the Harlow Ottoman bed.
STYLE TIP: Paint your furniture in a deep shade to make it stand out in your room.
